Tiny Steps: The I Didn’t Do Anything Edition

Ever have one of those days, or even weeks, where you think, “wow – what happened there? I didn’t get anything done!”

That was me earlier as I was getting ready to write today’s Tiny Steps.

I really couldn’t come up with a single thing I’d done that brought me closer to my dreams.

So I decided it was time to spend a little quality time in the kitchen.

Then finally I remembered, “oh yeah, I did do that one thing.” And a few dishes later, more things bubbled up.

Which demonstrates at least one thing I didn’t do this week – keep a good log of what I was doing and why.

When I take notes at the end of the day, it makes it so much easier to go back and review, see the little victories and accomplishments that otherwise get lost in day-to-day activities.

For the coming week, I’m planning to put more emphasis on creating a daily log of victory, and see how it feels.

However, there were things that really did get done!

  • Wrote the first draft on a piece of copy that I’ve been putting off
  • Redesigned two websites in my sprawling network of projects, and straightened out quite a bit of the tangle (this was something I thought would take months. months!)
  • Painted! Had two whole sessions of mucking about with paints!
  • Played music – not well, and not for long, but at least sat back down with the instruments.

What were your tiny steps for the week?

Huzzah for the sitting down with instruments!
    And the rest.

    Just discovered you.
    Popped over from Havi’s blog.

    Looking forward to poking around.

I intentionally achieved 2 action items this week, which is way more than last week. Yay intention! Plus I found I moved forward mentally on a few fronts just because my goals are forefront in my mind and I am confronting my to do list on a daily basis. Yay subconscious mind!

Welcome, Pam! Glad you found me!

Lauren – isn’t it amazing what intention can do! And backed up by subconscious mind? That sounds pretty unstoppable.

We talk about a lot of things here…

Being gentle with ourselves, and the importance of small adjustments towards alignment.

Experiments in happiness and what does adventure mean, anyway?

What can happen when you say "Yes" and what might be waiting outside your front door.

And of course, why pretending to be a pterodactyl is good business.
